Worse yet, once those who fight spyware figure out one way to stop the bad guys, they find another way in to your computer.

The outlook isn’t as bleak as you might think.

Although spyware can have damaging consequences, as outlined in this book, there are steps you can take to keep them off your computer.

1.                Keep all your programs updated.

2.                Have at least one spyware program.

3.                Have a firewall.

4.                Consider installing a paid spyware program.

5.                Have one adware program.

6.                Have a good virus program.

7.                Use caution when downloading anything.

8.                Don’t open attachments in email from people you don’t know.

9.                Change your web browser to Mozilla Firefox.

10.           Monitor the programs installed on your computer.

We have to face the fact that spyware is a constant threat. But once each of you know what exactly you’re facing, you can help battle this threat simply by keeping them off your computer. If it stops being lucrative or satisfying, they may eventually turn away from the internet as a way to invade our lives.
